Our commitments
In the summer of 2013, The Fearrington House installed five beehives on the grounds to help restore and protect local biodiversity. Since January 2016, the restaurant has been offering a selection of organic and biodynamic wines by the glass. Chef Paul Gagne and team committed to working with local farmers and purveyors that are invested in sustainable practices. To combat waste, The Fearrignton House has installed practices to reduce the use of disposable amenities and lastly they donate gently-used industrial linens to partner charities that give them a second life.

The Farm
"For over two centuries, the Fearrington farm and its rolling pastures have dotted the landscape between Pittsboro and Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The farm, now a vibrant village consisting of shops, restaurants and an award-winning inn, still features rolling pastures, farm animals, the dairy barn, silo, and other farm structures. Several of these original buildings have been re-adapted and now form the heart of our Village Center. With Belted Galloway Cows, Tennessee Fainting Goats and Columbian Wyandot Chickens roaming the fields surrounding the Village Center, stop to greet these beloved Belted animals and you may even spot a recent addition to the herd!"
