Schlosshotel Chastè is brimming with character and set in particularly peaceful surroundings, at the foot of Tarasp Castle in the Engadin, a region renowned for its national parks and stunning mountain landscapes. This former farm turned into a modern and comfortable inn, managed by Daniela, Rudolf and Gian-Andrea Pazeller, embodies all that is gentle about Switzerland: the warmly welcoming living and guest rooms are panelled in Alpine pine in traditional fashion. The spa offers a variety of regenerating saunas. Its inventive cuisine is served with superb wines from the cellar in bright, friendly dining rooms.

Our commitments

The Schlosshotel Chastè embodies traditional Swiss hôtelerie and in the spirit of Swiss attention to detail, the hotel is fastidious about the quality of its food.
For vegetables and herbs, its preference is for produce from the hotel’s own kitchen garden. However, its Alpine location valley makes short summers, and to make up the shortfall, the hotel buys other ingredients locally.When it comes to sourcing fish, Schlosshotel Chastè is especially careful. First, its chef ensures that menus are seasonal, a basic measure that helps preserve fish stocks. It also sources produce certified by the non-profit organization, Friend of the Sea, which helps support the preservation of marine habitats. Friend of the Sea now operates internationally, certifying products originating from sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. Audits are carried out on-site against strict sustainability criteria developed by the organization.

Lai Nair / black lake

The Lai Nair or in English called black lake you get within 15 minutes walking from the Schlosshotel Chastè. The area of this peaceful place surrounded by coloured forest, mountains and pure nature gives all visitors the feeling of energy and happiness. To swim in this mountain lake gives a soft feeling on the skin and makes you feel like in paradise.

Celebrations at a 1000 years old castle

The team of the Schlosshotel Chastè does offer caterings up at the 1000 years old castle of Tarasp. From a romantic dinner for 2 up to 65 people weddings and concerts. The atmosphere is always a unique experience and the dishes are served on high quality
