Blue Margouillat Seaview Hotel is a Creole-style property sitting on the heights of Reunion Island’s Saint-Leu. Overlooking the Indian Ocean, its horizon stretches into infinity — only a few rare clouds sweeping across the blue immensity. Exotic woods furnish the spacious rooms and suites and decorate the salons and restaurant. The latter is where you can enjoy delicious dishes composed of local spices and flavours. Small inland fish, garden herbs? Here, happiness is epicurean. From the gourmet delights and special attention paid to guests to the individual spa tubs in the luminous suites, you will feel as if in a dream, flying over the vast ocean.

Whale watching during the southern winter

From the hotel, it is possible to see whales off the coast of Saint-Leu during the southern winter (from June to September). I like to observe these cetaceans that come every year to give birth in the warm waters around Reunion Island. Since whale watching at sea is regulated, I will be able to direct you to professionals who adhere to the whale protection charter.

Take a helicopter tour

There is no better way to discover the volcanic landscape of Reunion Island than by visiting its Cirques, especially Mafate, Salazie, Cilaos, and the majestic Piton de La Fournaise. If you are lucky enough to fly during an eruption, you will be able to experience the memorable spectacle of lava from the sky. Count on me to guide you to the best helicopter tours.

Visit the lava tunnels

The recent eruptions of Piton de la Fournaise have led to the formation of lava tunnels. Thanks to professional guides with proper safety equipment, it is possible to snake your way through these unique lava-fused tunnels. Fantastical shapes have been created that sometimes give you the impression of being immersed in chocolate. I’ll be happy to point out the sweetest tunnels!

Makes Astronomical Observatory

Devoid of light pollution, Réunion Island is a magical place where you can contemplate the stars in the southern sky. The Makes Observatory offers star-gazing events during which both young and old alike will be left amazed by the immensity of the heavens as they discover an unspoiled view of the Milky Way and a host of constellations. Shooting stars are also seen quite often while star gazing here, thus adding a finishing touch to an absolutely fascinating spectacle.
