The Lameloise experience is also an experience of Burgundy: the wine list is therefore logically and resolutely geared towards the many climates which make up this exceptional area: of the 900 wines in our selection, over two thirds are from Burgundy, including around thirty from Meursault, and around forty from Gevrey-Chambertain... The Côtes Chalonnaise is close to our hearts and also occupies a place of honour.

Regional traditions form a fertile cradle for the preservation of culture and skills, as exemplified by this property with architecture that dates back several hundred years.

This former post office, with typical French ceilings, sculpted wooden staircases and vaulted rooms, is one of Burgundy’s architectural treasures. Its spirit has been carefully preserved during each restoration. This respect for tradition can also be seen in the kitchens, under the watchful eye of the Chef. Regional products are showcased, thanks to a supply chain that is as short and direct as possible. Which means, for example, finding Bresse butter on the breakfast table. Here, raw ingredients are treasured and valued at each stage in their preparation, and fresh vegetables sourced in small quantities to avoid waste.

A true institution of French gastronomy and a charming hotel, the Maison Lameloise has cultivated art de vivre since more than 90 years. In medieval times the cuisine attracted already the Dukes of Burgundy. This long and delightful story is continued by Chef Éric Pras, MOF (Best Craftsman of France), and Frédéric Lamy at the head of the former coach house dating back to the 15th century. The fresh, precise and delicate cuisine of Éric Pras gives this iconic restaurant a new, young image. With the fine tart of Burgundy snails and the potagère of fresh herbs or the suckling veal chop rubbed with marjoram and orange, it pays a delicious tribute to the region and the heritage of the property.

If you enjoy driving, there's an excellent opportunity to retrace the ancient National Road 6 via the neighbouring village of Saint-Aubin. Bordered by hillside vineyards, this part of the "Route du Soleil" offers a real change of scenery. Around a bend, the Château de la Rochepot, a wonderful piece of Burgundy architecture, appears suddenly like something from a dream.

Take the time to wander from one river, the Yonne, to another, the Rhône. Spending 5 days driving between Joigny and Beaune is to discover hilly landscapes covered with vineyards.
