prime location

16th-century townhouse
historic building
rooftop terrace
spa in historic Gothic cellars

Krakow was once the capital of Poland and it still has many impressive monuments from this period, such as the Royal Castle overlooking the Wawel Hill, where the country’s monarchs lived. Copernicus Hotel is located on Kanonicza, the city’s oldest street. For centuries, this building was a part of the cathedral chapel and hosted the intellectual and financial elite of Krakow. It owes its name to the famous Polish astronomer Nicolas Copernicus, who was one of the guests of the house. He, too, must have admired the precious polychrome paintings and inscriptions dating from the 1500s and, in the evening, the flaming sunsets that seem to set the city alight. After visiting the city, relax at the Copernicus Spa by L’Occitane with a range of custom treatments.

Our commitments

Extensive renovation work has enabled Hotel Copernicus to reveal all its historic treasures, which are both artistic and architectural. Today, the property's features have been restored to their original splendor, and guests are free to admire the hotel's history.
A team of scientists, historians, specialists was selected to carry out the restoration work. The building renovation in particular uncovered priceless multicolored paintings, one of which dated back to the 14th century. High ceilings, painted walls, dark wood Renaissance furniture and marble bathrooms give the place its unique character. One surprising feature is the Gothic-style swimming pool in the property's vaulted basement.

Visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine

Wieliczka Salt Mine is the only mining establishment in the world active continuously since the Middle Ages, and one of the most famous of Poland’s tourist attractions. In 1978 the mine was entered into UNESCO’s First World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage. The miners have been creating the mine for over seven centuries, by extracting rock salt from its deposits. The result of their work under the city of Wieliczka is a labyrinth of underground tunnels on nine levels, between 64 and 327 meters deep. The mine is made up of approximately 3 thousand chambers connected with tunnels with a total length of 300 kilometers. Located only 15 km from Krakow.

Visit the KL Auschwitz - Birkenau Museum

All over the world, Auschwitz has become a symbol of terror, genocide, and the Holocaust. It was established by Germans in 1940, in the suburbs of Oswiecim, a Polish city that was annexed to the Third Reich by the Nazis. Its name was changed to Auschwitz, which also became the name of Konzentrationslager Auschwitz. Located only 79 km from Cracow.
