It is the theme of the upcoming MET Gala 2018 in New York (on May 7) that inspired the Jimmie Martin exhibit at the Surrey Hotel. Known most for its innovative designer furniture and original, eccentric furnishings, Jimmie Martin presents a series of decorative sculptures entitled “Naughty Angels.” The two designers, Jimmie Karlsson and Martin Nihlman, have given free reign to their imagination and creativity in their take on Met Gala theme “Heavenly Bodies:  Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” Their hand-painted pieces, made with stone and resin, will be exhibited around the entire hotel, from the presidential suites and penthouse to the terrace garden. The “Naughty Angels” collection introduces you to rebellious angels (a silver angel adorned with tattoos and stolen jewelry), impertinent characters as well as noted figures like Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour.
