In 1976 Kreis and Sandy Beall founded Blackberry Farm with the desire to share their family home with great friends. It began as a six-room inn and blossomed into the renowned destination for hospitality, wine and food, one-of-a-kind experiences and cherished memories that it is today. The family tradition of hospitality continued as Sam Beall played an integral role in developing the incredible programming that guests travel from all over the world to experience, and that legacy and inspired ambition continues today with Proprietor Mary Celeste Beall.
Blackberry Farm was created with a mission to share real Southern hospitality and authenticity with our guests. We pride ourselves on dedicated attention to detail and the highest level of personal service so that every guest feels more than welcome, they feel at home. We’re sharing the experience of a working farm and the beautiful and rich history of East Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains.
We want our guests to experience a true sense of being cared for. My hope is that when guests leave Blackberry Farm, they remember the genuine relationships they created with our team members and the comforting sense of wholeness they experienced during their stay with us.
We are incredibly lucky to have a team that celebrates and showcases a wide array of passions so that no matter what our guests are interested in, they have an opportunity to explore it here. I love watching guests embrace the immersion into life on a working farm, exploring a range of activities – everything from fly fishing and horseback riding to wake surfing on the lake – and taking time for self-care and balance at the Wellhouse.
