The chef works with fresh produce from the house's organic vegetable garden or from local artisan growers and producers, while the wine list, featuring over 600 bottlings, complements the authenticity of the dishes and tells another story of the setting.

Il San Pietro offers a complimentary session of yoga or pilates every day -May to September- on the lawn by the beach at 9:00 am. Wake up your mind and soul in a setting of super beauty and feel energized all day long. Upon request, it’s possible to arrange for private yoga sessions by the water or on the room terrace. It’s an individualized practice designed with your goals in mind.

Between ancient olive trees, vineyard terraces and purple bursts of bougainvillea, the spa at Il San Pietro di Positano appears to cling to the cliff edge, overlooking the Mediterranean’s azure horizon. Treatments, such as massages with sea salt or lemon essence, bring to life the cultural treasures of the region and intensely rejuvenate the skin. Your wellness experience continues in the gym, where bay windows open onto the infinite blue, on the tennis court below, nestled between sea and rockface, or during a yoga session, lulled by the lapping of the waves.

The Spa at Il San Pietro

Il San Pietro Di Positano is ISO 14001-certified in environmental systems management and has been reducing its impact on the environment since it opened by installing energy-saving equipment and using responsible practices.

It significantly cut its use of air conditioning with living roof system and sensors that automatically shut off the air conditioners when the doors are open. The kitchen in the Zass Restaurant has been refurbished with the latest energy-saving technology and a rainwater collection tank reduces the amount of water needed for the gardens. The hotel is also diligent about collecting and recycling waste. It has three compacters for kitchen scraps, glass and aluminum/plastic that notably cut waste by 70%  as well as reducing the carbon emissions required to transport it.

This hotel is the dream child of Carlino Cinque, who was passionately in love with this place and commissioned a villa on a promontory with breathtaking views of Praiano, Positano, the coast and the rocks of Capri. In the course of time, this dream grew, as did the hotel. Its many rooms have each a private terrace and a wonderful sea view. The interior details include fine terracotta floors with ceramic decoration and doors adorned with frescoes. An elevator built into the rocks leads down to a private beach and to the Carlino restaurant. The spa and tennis court between the cliffs are also not to be missed.

Carved out of the cliff, the lift will whisk you from the entrance hall to this little corner of paradise in seconds. In the distance, you’ll see the faraglioni, four iconic rocky stacks rising proudly from the sea off the island of Capri.

Natural treasures abound on the Amalfi coast, some beautiful parks and gardens among them. Nestled on a cliff, the town of Ravello is home to the most stunning examples in the region. The gardens at Villa Rufolo, a residence that belonged to the Rufolos – a rich family of princes and merchants – are extraordinary. The villa opens onto gardens laid out in terraces with a breathtaking view of the sea below. This same landscape inspired Richard Wagner, who composed Parsifal while staying in Ravello. Every summer, the gardens of Villa Rufolo play host to a festival in honor of the German composer.

The hillside village of Vietri on the Amalfi coast is world-famous for its hand painted majolica. Since the 17th century, craftspeople have taken inspiration from the colors of the landscape in creating motifs and glazes for the ceramics used to decorate both the walls of houses and the facades of monuments. Savoir-faire has been passed on from generation to generation, and Vietri remains an important production center for artistic and traditional ceramics in Italy.
