A World of Wine

As the eighth generation of the family to lead Tasca d’Almerita, a Sicilian wine company 250 years in the making, it felt natural that when we envisaged Capofaro we wanted to create somewhere that celebrates the soul of Mediterranean hospitality, while focusing on viticulture. Capofaro truly embodies my family’s love for sea, good food and wine. The hotel’s restaurant, pool and rooms are surrounded by both old and newly planted Malvasia di Lipari vines. From these grapes we produce two different Malvasia bottles, the dry version is called Didyme- the ancient name of Salina, and the sweet one is called ‘Capofaro’. Our guests are also invited to enjoy private tastings of Tasca’s bottles from across Sicily, with dedicated sommeliers.
