Traditional hunting on horseback
Burg Schlitz is surrounded by kilometres of bridleways in all directions. Deep valleys and magnificent forests of hardwood trees and other species offer a sense of adventure. If you want to discover the scenery with your own horses, they can be accommodated at nearby stables (10 minutes by car). In the perfect setting, hunts on horseback have been arranged at Burg Schlitz for more than 200 years. Today, we still host show hunts behind an excellently trained pack as part of events. When the morning fanfare rings out through the woods, echoing with trumpets and the baying of the pack across the fields, you’ll be in no doubt you’re in a very special place indeed.

Castle life and culinary experiences in the Salon Meissen
Castle Schlitz is one of the most important buildings of German classicism, boasting a 200-year history. This noble family residence was built by the architect Friedrich Adam Leiblin on the remains of an old castle. Carefully and meticulously renovated, it is today a majestic manor house offering its guests unique experiences. And dwelling here, it’s like living in a daydream. Its sumptuous decor can be admired in every room, especially in the Meissen Salon, a splendid room decorated with various sculptures and a porcelain chandelier of phenomenal beauty. You are invited to enjoy an experience in total harmony with the setting: the savoring of the gastronomic menu specially designed for the place, including an exceptional food and wine pairing. This is experienced exclusively in the private dining room, with only one reservation possible per evening, for a maximum of 4 people.
