Landhaus Stricker is the ideal place for a wonderful holiday on Sylt, an island with exceptional natural surroundings and particularly pure air. You will feel in top form there whatever the weather, whether browsing through the library, swimming in the heated pool or lounging on the beach, well protected by a strandkorb, the wickered beach chair used on the North Sea coasts. The 500 m² spa provides fitness, relaxation and treatments. And as a finishing touch, there are culinary delights created by chef Holger Bodendorf. You will appreciate his culinary creations with a Mediterranean flair: Tuna & Cucumber: marinated tuna, fried tuna, tuna tartar, cucumber drop, cucumber mousse, bergamot foam.

Our commitments

Landhaus Stricker is a luxurious boutique hotel on the Germany’s most northerly isle—Sylt. The island is considered one of the last true wildernesses in central Europe and is celebrated for its stunning natural beauty. Yet this unique ecosystem is under threat from continual erosion by the sea.
Previous attempts to contain the problem using concrete breakwaters proved futile, but the formation, in 2007, of the government-backed Küstenschutz Sylt (Sylt Coastal Protection), has finally delivered effective protection for the island’s coastline. Landhaus Stricker and its four partner hotels on the island have provided continual support to Küstenschutz Sylt. Every year the partners hold a “friends-of-the-island” promotional month. This helps raise awareness among visitors about the crucial importance of protecting the island. The hotels host a series of guided tours, highlighting key areas for conservation. During the month, the hotels gather donations from guests for the cause. They also divert a proportion of the price of every overnight stay to the association’s work.

Biking trip

The best way to explore the beauty of the Island is definitely be bike. Especially during spring and summer time I take a ride on my bike on every day off. One day I take a tour to the North for an ice cream at the ‘Sylter Eismanufaktur’, next time it may be a trip to the south, enjoying a sun downer in one of the restaurants in the dunes, on the way. We do have plenty of cycle paths, aside the streets, along the dunes or through the fields. Passing by little villages a bike offers you the opportunity to stop wherever a nice little cafe catches your attention.

Mud Flat hiking tour

The ‘Wattenmeer’ (Wadden Sea) at the east coast of the island is very unique with its wildlife. There are only a few beaches at the east coast, hence here you may find a lot of quiet places even in high season. A hiking tour – it is recommended to only take the guided tours – is recreative, informative and a lot of fun, especially for children. Staying at the bankside you may even dare your individual tour during low tide to enjoy the refreshing feeling for feet, legs and your mood. Further in the north the low tide offers views and visits of oyster beds of the famous ‘Sylter Royal’ – and afterwards visit Dittmeyer’s Austern Compagnie to indulge in fresh oysters.

A wildlife sea voyage for the kids

Meet at the port of List in the late morning for an unforgettable adventure on the high seas. Once on board an authentic trawler, you’ll set sail in search of the seals often found frolicking offshore, as the crew share stories about the marine animals they encounter. As fishing nets are thrown into the water, you’ll discover some of the treasures of the North Sea, including starfish, crabs and razor clams... You can even taste oysters straight from the sea bed.
