a peacful oasis in Grasse

17th-century country house
world perfume capital
Provençal decor

An old country house from the late 17th century, La Bastide Saint-Antoine awaits you in the heart of a 25-acre olive grove. The rooms are either Provencal or contemporary style and the gourmet restaurant has a wide terrace overlooking the Cannes bay. Chef Jacques Chibois creates an alchemy of authentic mediterranean flavours under 1,000 year-old olive trees. What’s on the agenda? A meditative stroll around the grounds, exploring the botanical gardens, reading, playing petanque, and relaxing by the pool. Between oenology, an initiation to perfume creation, or the culinary and aromatic tasting school, you will fall in love with Provence at this property imbued with the personal passion of Jacques Chibois.

Our commitments

From the top of this estate that stretches over 10 hectares, carved into undulating terraces, the valley extends out to the sea. An extraordinary environment that the entire team of the Bastide Saint-Antoine work hard to preserve…
To the sound of the cicadas; fig, lemon and some 60 citrus varieties mingle in an explosion of aroma and color. Their delicious fruit are served to the guests. The 1200 olive trees wear proudly their 2000 year past: their small black nuggets are taken to the neighboring mill, olives of the "caillette"  variety, producing an oil as sweet and fruity as the climate of Provence. It can be found at the beginning of each meal, served in a glass carafe to best reveal the bronze tones, ready to taste. Gently poured over freshly sliced bread, it reveals its depth of flavour. And like a trail of breadcrumbs, we find it in the subtle flavors in the Chef’s different dishes. Only he knows how best to mix it with the herbs from his garden. This establishment, renovated with traditional materials by local artisans, is an ode to biodiversity: to the delight of its pollinators who in the roses, bougainvillea, cypress and agapanthus are free to enjoy a small corner of paradise...
