Inspired by Macha, the Celtic goddess who protects horses and is a symbol of femininity, Macha Spa honors the equestrian heritage of the Domaine de Locguénolé. Housed in the chateau’s former stables, it authentically pays tribute to this earlier life, through decor that favors natural materials, including unfinished wood. Its six cabins, including a 540-square-foot/50-square-meter spa suite, open the door to a soothing experience, thanks to a hammam, heated indoor pool and herbal tea room, all with views over the Blavet river.

Spa Macha

Locguénolé is located next to the dark waters of a sea inlet in the heart of a land of legends. The Château and the small Manor House overlook a wide estuary where the light and landscape change with the tides. These buildings from the 18th and early 19th centuries are set in wooded parkland and have remained in the hands of the same family for centuries. They boast a combination of modern comfort and tradition with classical décor and period furniture. The creative cuisine is based on a subtle pairing of ingredients from the Morbihan terroir and the ocean. A private pontoon permits sailors travelling up the Blavet from Lorient harbour to dock at this delightful haven.

The Caprice ended its career as a trawler in 1975 to become elegant marine accommodation. Moored at the quayside, its old rigging promises an unusual and memorable backdrop to your stay. At the bow of the boat, the master suite is as well-equipped as anything on dry land, while the cabin bedroom at the stern is a delight for little ones. Guests meet on the deck, which serves as a private rooftop. A stationary–but no less exotic–odyssey awaits!

Setting off for the islands in the open sea from the hotel's private pontoon is an unforgettable experience. Coming down the inlet and crossing Lorient harbour before joining the ocean is unbelievably peaceful. Set course for the islands: Groix, Belle-Île or the Glénans, according to the most favourable winds. A professional skipper is on board for your safety and to handle the boat. Lunch in the anchorage of the islands is the defining moment of the day."
