Nissim-de-camondo museum. tour of a museum and stately home

On the fringes of the Parc Monceau, the Nissim-de-Camondo museum is a well-kept secret. Built by René Sergent in the lead-up to World War I and inaugurated in December 1936, a tour of this grand stately home reveals an incredible collection of 18th-century furniture, furnishing and art objects and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the everyday lives of a bourgeois banking family.

A stroll through the 8th arrondissement

Over and above the shopping it offers in its many luxury boutiques, the 8th arrondissement is a must for any trip to Paris. Wander around the arrondissement and marvel at world-renowned cultural and artistic venues such as the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, built for the Exposition Universelle in 1900. The district is also the capital's political epicenter, home as it is to the Élysée Palace just around the corner from the hotel.

A village within a city

Not far from the hotel at 24 de la Rue Boissy d’Anglas lies the charming Village Royal. Built in 1725, this little car-free street is a bucolic, village-inspired area in the heart of Paris.  Its low-built houses and gorgeous facades lend the street an old-fashioned sense of charm, making it a wonderfully pleasant place for a stroll in all seasons.

The Jardin du Luxembourg garden and museum

The Musée du Luxembourg is a cozy exhibition space enclosed in a wing that lies perpendicular to the Orangerie at the Palais du Luxembourg, home to the French Senate. This French institution is based throughout the rest of the Palais. The Jardin du Luxembourg is a 23-hectare public garden that backs on to the museum. It was founded in 1612 upon Marie de' Medici's request.
