"Take time to walk around the park... Dive into water as clear as dew... Laze around in the shade of one hundred-year-old trees... Partake in an authentic game of croquet... Visit the chateau's hen house to discover real black Gallic hens... Before stopping for a drink under the arbour...
This is Germigney, a place where you can experience a treasure thought to be lost forever: Time! "
The legend of the 'white gold' is an age-old story, one that is industrial, political, economic and above all, human, which has its roots beneath the region’s surface. In the beginning, there were saline springs. The Jura took advantage of this precious resource, establishing extraction facilities in Salins-les-Bains back in the 15th century. This legacy is now classified by UNESCO and waiting to be discovered near the chateau.
From dinosaur artifacts in Loulle to the Modern Art Museum in Dole, from the lakes to the remote Baume-les-Messieurs, via the Haut-Jura regional natural park with its magnificent waterfalls, the fruit farms in Comté, the Toy Museum, the Laughing Cow© Museum and the Spectacle Museum… the region conveys the history, values and expertise is it famous for! Heritage brought to public attention by local personalities such as Rouget de Lisle, Pasteur, Paul-Émile Victor, Marcel Aymé and Louis Vuitton. They were very much part of the Jura landscape, past and present.
