Situated at the foot of the famous Bellevarde ski slope, an iconic Alpine black run, Hotel les Barmes de l’Ours prides itself on its artistic spirit and family atmosphere—both personal passions for its owner. Les Barmes de l’Ours partners with the local "Vivre Livre" association, every winter, providing complimentary accommodation to a host of writers, speakers, storytellers, and actors. These characters share their stories through a series of literary salons held at the resort’s tea rooms, a central site owned by the hotel. Many of the hotel’s guests take part—perhaps encouraged by the ever-changing range of stimulating literature provided in guests’ rooms.
