Gallia SPA

Located in the Protected Natural Area of Punta Ala, Gallia Palace Beach & Golf Resort has recently renewed its facilities to optimize energy use and conserve water resources.

To better meet the current challenges of sustainability, its oil-fired boiler has been replaced by a natural gas, air condensing model, fully integrated with a solar energy system. A new air conditioning system and more efficient refrigeration unit have also been installed. Much of the hotel's water equipment has been replaced too, reducing consumption. The hotel has put in place a new water purification process as well as more environmentally-friendly washing machines. Outside, wells have been installed to meet watering needs for the gardens.

This elegant property was the first Italian hotel to join Relais & Châteaux in 1973, and the Gallia-Ansaldi family has been welcoming guests for three generations. On the fine sandy private beach, in front of the island of Elba, La Pagoda restaurant reigns supreme, thanks to its unique architecture and spectacular sea views. Completely relax in the Turkish baths, pool or wellness centre and gym. Golfers will enjoy the 18-hole golf course, set in a pine forest that is over hundred years old. The Punta Ala golf course has few artificial barriers, and for good reason: the natural barrier that constitutes the Mediterranean scrub is enough to make it an absolutely fascinating and very technical course with quite unique holes. The first, a 310 metre downhill par 4 with a breathtaking view of the castle, Elba Island and Punta Ala Bay. At the end of a long course covering more than 6,000 metres, the last hole, offering one of most beautiful settings in Europe, gives you a spectacular view: at the bottom, the last green is surrounded by water, which gives the impression that the ball is going to end up in the clear waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. You can take a refreshing drink and relax a little on the terrace of the Golf Club, listening to birdsong while you enjoy the superb landscape.'
