The Borda Garden is located a few steps from the Cathedral of Cuernavaca in a mansion that belonged to the wealthy miner, Jose de la Borda, and served as the summer residence for the Emperor Maximilian and Empress Carlota Amalia Habsburg who selected the site for its beauty.
