Treatments at Flocons de Sel spa in Megève draw their inspiration from the plants of Haute-Savoie and the surrounding alpine world. After a day of skiing or hiking, this 3,200-square-foot/300-square-foot space offers well-deserved moments of relaxation, thanks to treatments developed with pure mountain water and essential oils from mountain flowers and trees. A Swedish bath, a swimming pool, a sauna and a hammam are also at your disposal.

The soul of this establishment comes from its "eat local" and "build local" philosophy. A hunter, gatherer and gardener, Emmanuel Renaut scours forest paths and mountain pastures to find mushrooms and herbs with which to treat his guests. For those who feel like discovering the flora and fauna for themselves, the chef is happy to take guests along with him, explaining why he is concerned about protecting the chamois, deer and fish. He also enjoys taking the time to talk with his suppliers, all local. And back at the property, he will animatedly tell you where the materials were sourced for the house. Here too, everything is local: from the stone to the wood, via the flowers in the garden.

From our chalet, a free private shuttle allows you to reach the Rochebrune and Chamois ski lifts in 5 minutes so you can enjoy the Megève ski area. The resort culminates at 7,710 feet, and offers 202 miles of trails that wind between fir forests and old mountain farmhouses. You can also admire the landscape from one of the sunny terraces of the chicest French ski resort. Megève is a family resort that elegantly embodies the French art of alpine living. It features areas dedicated to freestyle skiing and sledding, the village of Les Lutins des Neiges for the little ones, 44 miles of Nordic ski trails, and a village that looks like a traditional hamlet.

To get multiple views of the summit of Mont Blanc, the most daring will be able to explore the 217 trails in the Evasion Mont-Blanc ski area, which includes the resorts of Saint-Gervais, Les Contamines, and the Portes du Mont-Blanc ski area.
