Visit the organic kitchen garden with Chef Gleize

At La Bonne Etape, I will show you our own little garden of Eden. As George CLOONEY said (during his visit to the Bonne Etape in 2011) "This place was an oasis…". Discover our 6,000 m² organic kitchen garden! Let me take you on a sensory journey. A guided visit during which I will share some of my culinary tips. This richly planted garden with its dozens of plant varieties is a truly exceptional place where we host a range of events (weddings, concerts, plays, etc.) as well as our summer restaurant on the lawn in the shade of the fruit trees… dine accompanied by the sweet song of thrushes and cicadas.

Visiting the cellar

This unique experience is offered to you by our head sommelier. Whether you just like fine wines or are a fervent connoisseur of superior vintages, he’ll invite you to follow him into our cellar, which you’ll discover through a secret passageway leading to the underground tunnels beneath the house dating back to just after the French revolution. You’re invited to discover an exceptional terroir accompanied by an expert sommelier guide and surrounded by passionate winemakers. You’ll spend the whole day touring wineries that are secret to most, but well known to the Property. You’ll discover the many secrets of the vineyard and the winemaking techniques, as well as enrich your vocabulary with the wine tasting terms used by connoisseurs of this exquisite nectar. Prolong this magical moment by tasting some blends that will familiarize you with the different wine flavors of Provence, a region that is the pride of France.

For more than twenty years, La Bonne Étape has maintained a special relationship with the Moulin Fortuné Arizzi, a producer of extra pure virgin olive oil from Haute-Provence, located 10 miles from the property in the Durance Valley. We invite you to visit this exceptional estate to discover the production secrets of this region’s oil, created from a medley of three olive varieties: aglandau, picholine and frantoio. At the start of the visit, a tasting introduction will allow you to explore all the sensory qualities of this treasure from Provençal cuisine.
