Blessed with a mild and almost subtropical climate, Korčula, situated in the south of Dalmatia, is warmer than any of the islands to the north. That is probably one of the reasons why the town of Korčula is one of the most significant urban settlements on the east Adriatic coast. The town’s progressive spirit is best seen in its statutes from 1214, that regulated every aspect of island life and inspired other towns in the region to do the same. Walk along narrow medieval streets where Marco Polo took the first steps along the Silk Route and find out about local ways of life and fascinating facts that are not in the guidebooks.
