family-run
unique Chartreuse cellar

Located south of Lyon in the once Roman town of Vienne, La Pyramide has a long legacy in hospitality. Previously held by the mythical Fernand Point, it is now in the hands of the very talented and friendly Chef Patrick Henriroux and his family. Never resting on their laurels, they constantly innovate and update, making La Pyramide an exciting and dynamic destination. Patrick Henriroux's cuisine respects its traditional roots and adds a modern touch. The gourmet restaurant Patrick Henriroux boasts contemporary interiors in vivid colours by Régis Dho. Guests will be delighted by the impressive collection of Chartreuse liqueurs. The rule of three applies to the good things at L'espace PH3, the hotel’s second restaurant: three starters, three main courses, three desserts, three white wines, three rosé wines and so on.

Our commitments

Very active in promoting the town and the region, the establishment is part of an intensely local cooperative approach, and puts the training of its employees at the heart of its activity.
A giant picnic with 1000 people in the heart of Vienne, a pop-up restaurant promoting regional products, and events in Japan, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium: this property plays a key role in promoting and preserving the Nature and gastronomy of the region. Actively involved with an association for the protection of urban bees, the ‘Vin de Vienne’ appellation, and in developing the Vienne market, the 4th biggest market in France. Staff and interns are regularly invited to local markets and to wine-makers to learn about sourcing and tasting. They receive numerous training opportunities as well as opportunities to take part in prestigious competitions.

The Gallo-Roman city

Numerous archaeological remains bear witness to the storied past of Vienna, which became a rich and powerful Roman city in 66 BCE. The Temple of Augustus and Livia, in the heart of the city, is a must for history lovers and culture aficionados. They will also not want to miss the Roman roads, the Odeon, and above all, the amphitheater–the largest in the Roman province of Gaul after that of Autun, in Burgundy–which remains remarkably well preserved and can accommodate up to 7,500 people.

Textile Industry Museum

While Vienna is renowned for its ancient and medieval monuments, the city is perhaps less well known for its industrial history–although it is rich and fascinating. For more than two centuries, the city was the epicenter for the production of woolen material and Renaissance fabrics. With its collection of antiquated equipment, some of which is still in operation, the textile industry museum puts the spotlight firmly back on the city's craftsmanship, a little-known but essential stop on the famous Silk Road.

Explore the ViaRhôna by Segway

The ViaRhôna is a cycle route that runs along the Rhône, from Lake Geneva all the way to the Mediterranean, via Vienna. Discover the most beautiful landscapes of the region, aboard a fun and ecological electric vehicle: the Segway. During a one-hour journey–or perhaps a longer circuit that takes in the Côte-Rôtie vineyards–you will pass through delightfully well-preserved, verdant locations, completely off the beaten track. Enjoy this experience as a couple, with friends or as a family.
